The people who said this was nonsense tonally or plot-wise were wrong, but also it sucked bad enough I can't imagine caring enough to debate about it. Maybe would make for a good intro for someone who's never seen a film with jump scares or "baby's first concept of lingering trauma and/or trauma being passed on", but otherwise Never tell me again the Smile franchise ain't great, this shit is actually what the complainers thought it was
