Highlander: The Search for Vengeance
If only the live action films were this good. THE SEARCH FOR VENGEANCE whips ass. Incredibly stylish with unexpectedly good animation. Though, I shouldn’t be surprised about that since this comes from the director of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. The story is finally fleshed out and interesting in this one. It stars a Macleod who gets a true rival and has a centuries long beef with the main antagonist and it’s like. That’s what we’ve been waiting for! Plot! Emotional stakes! Clear objectives! Cool fights! This has them all. I didn’t think I would like the futuristic setting but it really works here. Blade Runner inspired for sure. I don’t know, it’s nothing spectacular but after all those horrible entires it’s nice to get a win, right? Right. That concludes my Highlanderfilm franchise watch. Not impressive, and the remake will be the best one of the bunch easy.If Letterboxd is stupid enough to add TV shows on here later this year then maybe you’ll see me re-watch the TV show at some point…who can say?
