Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore 2 was… okay. I’ve never been huge on remakes or sequels — they tend to lean too hard on nostalgia and end up feeling repetitive, and this one kind of falls into that trap. There are some genuinely funny moments (Adam Sandler still knows how to deliver a solid punchline), and the cameos were a fun surprise. But overall, it didn’t really do much to justify its existence. The energy just wasn’t the same, and it felt more like a victory lap than a fresh, new take. Not something I would’ve gone out of my way to see in the cinema — maybe good for a casual watch at home if you’re a fan of the original, but nothing to scream about.

Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore 2 is definitely a far cry from the original but not terrible either. It does have some funny moments sprinkled in but mostly falls flat of what it’s trying to achieve. It’s absolutely filled with cameos, pretty much one every minute, some are definitely better than others. Travis Kelce seemed very out of place notably but I guess it was just a bit of a free for all. It’s probably worth a watch is you’re an Adam Sandler fan but if his movies aren't really for you then you won’t be missing much.

Happy Gilmore 2

Stephen A Smith showed up to set just to say Happy Gilmore deserves execution via electric chair and Margaret Qualley said she was only showing up if she could almost exclusively dance. I can't in good conscience give this more than 2 stars, but I also can't give it any less than that either It was basically a meme for years that Sandler's Netflix era was just the "get my friends booked" deal, where the project and the plot and the budget were all secondary to finding space for his buddies. This is arguably the peak of that: there's more cameos here than there are minutes in the film (the film's almost two hours). First time in a while I say "feels like a fever dream" derogatorily

Happy Gilmore 2

Kind of yes, but actually no I’m still baffled by how studio executives are willing to pour money into completely unnecessary sequels to long-forgotten films from decades past. I appreciate their enthusiasm, and maybe the idea looked ambitious on paper, but what we end up with is a drawn-out plot, humorless gags, and a slew of pointless characters. The only thing that truly impressed me was the scale of the production — for a comedy of this sort, that’s remarkable. Everything else is so unremarkable that it’s neither worth praising nor even criticizing.

Happy Gilmore 2

Boring and didn't funny as the first one. Well Happy isn't Happy anymore i think, he just searching every spot and hole to fill his whiskey which kinda funny to me. Seeing the first movie cast grown up it makes me nostalgic, i don't know why. Also ridiculous ending, glad that Happy is happy again. Great cameo but it needs more spice and better execution, this just like a sitcom at this point.

Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore 2 feels like it’s trying to recapture the charm of the first but doesn’t quite get there. The jokes are hit or miss, and the story feels stretched thin. Overall, Happy Gilmore 2 has a few laughs but lacks the energy and fun of the original.

Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore 2 isn’t that bad, but it definitely feels a bit forced. We didn’t really need a sequel, because the first movie was already great and can’t be topped. Still, I think Bad Bunny did a pretty good job in his role and added something fresh to the film. Overall, it’s enjoyable, but it never reaches the charm or magic of the original.

Happy Gilmore 2

49/100 Check out my 2025 ranked - boxd.it/Fn1G4 (https://boxd.it/Fn1G4) I mean when you start the film the way they did, you always knew where this was going. Julie Delpy what the fuck did they get you to agree to lmao. The truth is as much I want to say it’s more, it’s really just a massive fan service slop with Netflix using their contracts and Adam Sandler using his basketball connections and perhaps golf to get the cameos to sell this movie. It’s low effort and stupid but it gets you through particularly because of my goat from the original film Shooter McGavin, he is still the man even with his reduced screen-time and dare I say even Bad Bunny, dude grew on me a lot as the film went on. Since this is a cameo fest, I’ll just rate the cameos and certain moments. My rating reflects how shit the film really is. Benny Safdie I don’t know what they paid you but I know it was big because why the hell would a serious actor like him do an absurdly shit character like this I’d never know. His whole storyline was dumb and the film didn’t need it. I’m sure 90% of the people would’ve just fine had we gotten some kind of Shooter and Gilmore rematch with a twist or something. Both his daughter played good parts and they even alluded to it at the end which was so obvious. His wife did her part, just a big family affair, good for them. You can always admire Adam Sandler the family man. I recognised Kelsey Plum and yeah that’s all I’ll say. Steve Buscemi was dumb as fuck. That laughter from Margaret Qualley in her last scene had to be a blooper they fit in because there’s no way she was acting, it’s just stupid shit that she did for the love of the game. The whole bottle thing was creative and actually funny. I miss Carl Weathers, a lot of homages throughout and a lot of reflection on the old film which I didn’t mind but I’d see how people viewing this more seriously would. It feels like I haven’t seen Ben Stiller act in a long time but he’s the same, crazy comedic actor as always. Those podcast dudes and Sean Evans hot ones were cool I guess. They got all these veterans but I wonder why they couldn’t get Tiger Woods, man demanding too much maybe? There were mentions of him throughout though. Travis Kelce was surprisingly fun and I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him in the future like Bad Bunny who is actually decent in all films I’ve seen him in. That SNL guy Domingo or whatever his actual name is was just the punching bag but he’s effortlessly funny so a good role. They got that fool Stephen A Smith to do his hating as usual, typical. Boban was wilding because what the fuck was that lmao. Man was doing everything in those few minutes he got. Boban and Adam have to be good friends because I’ve seen them in other films now. They got Huell my goat from Better Call Saul and it was nothing significant or even funny but he’s cool. Rory was tortured and he really can’t act for shit unlike Scottie who was perhaps my favourite non-actor in this entire film, he was incredible especially that whole jail sequence. Post Malone again just being stupid and useless and Eminem came for the love of the game because why would you come with a fake ass to be fed to the crocs. All in all, a dumb movie that has its funny moments but ultimately is meant to get you to play the recognise game more than anything. Not the Happy Gilmore 2 I’d have wanted but perhaps I should’ve expected. Also what was up with all those male ass shots, contractual obligations enforced by Netflix or something, fucking disgusting.
