A beautiful film. Glad I watched the series before because I’d of had no idea what was going on if not, but this surpasses the series in every way. It’s visually stunning and needs to be seen on the big screen to be fully appreciated. Wish we saw more of power in this as she’s one of the most interesting characters in this universe, but it’s still a great time and I’m excited to watch the next instalment into the franchise.

Posso ser suspeito pra falar porque eu já sou fã de Chainsaw Man desde sempre, mas vendo esse aqui, em especial no cinema, me fazem concluir duas coisas. Primeiro que o amor do Fujimoto por cinema e o melodrama somada ao absurdismo permite que um arco isolado funcione de forma tão boa que, mesmo sabendo que é uma sequência de eventos que derivam de uma série, ou que possuí uma história pós a apresentação de Reze, ver esse arco isolado em nada te deixa perdido na cadência de eventos que ele se propõe. Segundo que antes de ser a história Shonnen de um caçador de demônios, é uma história de um fracassado romântico que finalmente encontra a síntese de estar apaixonado. É duvidoso, é arriscado e é doloroso. Se apropriando de forma mais fiel a estética mais simples do mangá em termos de designe, mas que nada deixa a desejar nas composições, diferente da primeira temporada que tinha um estilo mais detalhado, a suavização da animação permite a plasticidade quando personagens estão próximos e principalmente quando parte para a ação mais exagerada. É a intensidade de se amar e estar apaixonado momento mais claro sendo a maratona de filmes no cinema com a Makima e principalmente a cena da piscina com a personagem que dá título ao filme. E a intensidade e escalada de violência que é presente nas obras do Fujimoto, sendo a revelação do Demônio Bomba o show de vísceras e a plasticidade da animação que exagera o que o mangá já criou, aqui tudo é maior e mais intenso. Inclusive a água tem um papel interessante aqui, existe uma leitura de que obras Queer tem como principal elemento a água, não estou dizendo que Chainsaw Man é propriamente uma obra Queer, mas ele dialoga de forma bem interessante afetividades e senso de propósito que conversa diretamente com vivências Queer. O momento que marca ambas as obras, mangá e filme, é a frase icônica: "todos querem o coração do motosserra, mas quem quer o coração do Denji". O prazer de amar, se sentir amado não vêm isolado, existe dor, existe dúvida e existe o receio. Acho incrível como Chainsaw Man pode ser transmitido de forma tão satisfatória e boa em uma tela grande. Recomendo demais que seja visto no cinema, mas se possível ser visto em qualquer lugar melhor ainda. Fujimoto meio que nasceu pra ser adaptado em uma tela grande né! Fala sério, muito bom!

"Every girl I know tried to kill me, everybody wants the Chainsaw Man's heart, but what about Denji's heart?" Tatsuki Fujimoto’s stories had always seemed, without exploring them deeply, somewhat simplistic and overexploited to me. It was a mistake not to have gotten involved with his work earlier. The Reze arc represents, in my opinion, a turning point for the characters. It’s the emotional and narrative foundation for what’s to come. While many manga works function well in their original format, this adaptation manages to visually consolidate everything Chainsaw Man proposes on paper, and it’s all thanks to the perfectly achieved soundtrack and cinematography. The shot selection, use of color, and editing provide coherence and rhythm to the storytelling. Every visual element fulfills its purpose without overwhelming or distracting, and there’s a clear sense of solid technical planning, but above all, care, behind each scene. The fight sequences are, as expected, spectacular. Not a single one feels unnecessary or weak, all maintain a high level of execution and creativity. The animation conveys the manga’s intensity and brutality without losing visual clarity. I know I’m focusing too much on the technical aspects, but I truly believe the real strength of this work lies in its characters, relationships, and message. Chainsaw Man doesn’t rely solely on its violence or aesthetics, I don’t think it ever did, but rather on how it portrays the human need for affection, acceptance, and a sense of purpose. It explores the loss of empathy in the characters and their gradual recovery of it. Denji isn’t a saint, and Reze isn’t entirely evil. The toxic, dependent, and manipulative relationship that exists from the beginning is what makes them so understandable. What unites them isn’t idealized love, but the emptiness that feels all too familiar to both of them in different ways.
