I first saw this film when I was just getting into the Floyd. Scared the living daylights out of a 13 year old, and I decided to give it a second chance because of my love for the band (and because it’s Spring break and I have nothing much else to do). Although some of the plot lines are a mess, as well as the production being halted every given moment because of some new “request” from Roger Waters… the movie manages to capture the concept of the album quite nicely. To give credit where it’s due, the cinematography throughout the film was well thought out and captured. The animation sequences during “Goodbye Blue Sky”, “Another Brick in The Wall Pt.2” were way ahead of it’s time. (Special props to the “marching hammer sequence”, animating that must’ve been a pain). All in all, a decent adaptation of the album, some of the acting/plot points left a lot to be desired.
