Suspiria
As someone who arrived in another country before, that tried to talk to a non English speaking cab driver who eventually understood what I was saying and dropped me off at a school I was unsure I would be able to get into that night. This hit close to home. I had only watched the remake before this, and while I did enjoy that, I will say I did like this one better. I have just recently gotten into Dario Argento films, and you can easily see why his early filmography is so well regarded. This has the funky Italian horror vibe, with a killer soundtrack from Goblin that absolutely rules. Having seen this now, I want to reexperience the remake since I haven't seen it since it was in theaters.

SPOOKTOBER #7 It didn’t quite meet my expectations, but I really appreciated the visuals. The vibrant colors added a lot of life to the overall look, making it enjoyable in that aspect. Even though it wasn’t as good as I hoped, the style and design definitely stood out.

this was INSANELY good. the score, the camerawork, the set decors, the cinematography, the story, the aesthetics. WOW. had me captivated from beginning to end. 70s horror movies truly are the best. Dario Argento i could kiss you for this i'm about to become so insufferable.

Witches run a dance school where everything goes wrong. This film is crazy from start to finish. The colours in this film are unbelievably beautiful and are the highlight of the movie. Really enjoyable viewing but nothing revolutionary.

in other words: "quandum ubique, quandum semper, quandum ad omnibus creditur est", which means that magic is everywhere, and all over the world, it's a recognized fact 𓍯𓂅𓆸 ⊹ both ethereal and eerie. the music sounded like they were casting spells on me, the band being called goblin is truly fitting. literally such a magical score. also im now going to be dreaming of my future home looking like the gorgeous set design in this movie

Suzy é uma jovem dos Estados Unidos que vai até a Alemanha para se juntar a uma companhia prestigiada de Balé. Porém em seu caminho ela esbarra com Pat, uma ex-aluna recém expulsa que está desnorteada. Na manhã seguinte todos da companhia descobrem que a jovem fugiu e uma aura misteriosa e sombria cerca Suzy e a companhia a qual ela faz parte. Sendo um clássico contemporâneo, Dario Argento utiliza de uma narrativa tensa e incomoda com uma trilha sonora intrusiva nas horas certas, apostando no suspense onde o designe de som está dedicado a incomodar o espectador a todo momento. Não só isso, a utilização de cores primárias para expressar os sentimentos e clima do cenário somam a construção de tensão e terror, sendo que as cores fortes e primárias estão representadas até em elementos mais físicos, como o sangue que aqui é vermelho e vibrante o que casa com a atmosfera de fantasia sombria. Fora o mistério que é muito bem articulado e, mesmo você sabendo a reviravolta, a construção da direção de Argento é eficaz em transitar entre um começo misterioso que implica na existência de um serial killer a até a ameaça principal. Enfim, no mais Suspiria é um clássico que merece ser visto e revisto por todos os elementos citados. Um ótimo filme de terror e fantasia.

O pesadelo que se constrói através de um designe de produção belíssimo, uma trilha que grita a todo momento e um Dario Argento que fez história com esse filme, mas não parou por aí! É Queer da ponta do cabelo até a unha do pé!
