Ballot
“ganito talaga ang eleksyon dito sa atin its broken but we manage, its a one big joke we must take seriously” im so disappointed with how it ended not because its bad but because of how real it is, “paulit ulit putangina” but i also love how it give some kind of hope for the people na kahit paulit ulit na lang tayong ginagago at pinaglalaruan ng mga politiko meron at meron pa ring konting pag-asa na balang araw ang masa naman mananalo, tayo naman ang mananalo, at sila naman ang magdudusa.

was surprised with the opening scene, i thought i was watching a different film but realized how realistic the political campaign ads are. i also definitely didn’t expect this film to be campy! but i think this is an okay film, i just expected more. marian delivered tho, she was goood! this film could open the eyes of other filipinos who are blind or are choosing to keep a blind eye on how fucked up the ph government/politics is. but a part of me also thinks that this film could open their eyes but they will still choose to be passive (because of what this film showed them), same with the ones who are already aware of what’s happening in the country. and like what i’ve said multiple times already in my reviews: fuck the system and fuck the policemen and dirty politicians!!
Ballot
balota has an important message that should be fed to the filipinos every election szn because of how dirty filipino politics is, therefore it is an essential movie. the first half of the movie was awesome imo (i loved the opening credits). marian rivera shocked me with her performance, im not gonna lie. esnyr and sassa gurl really added the comedic flair to it, as well. i appreciated that. and, to summarize, i had hopes that it would be a 5 star. but, i did the mistake of reading the reviews of this movie while watching so now i got influenced but ill try to stick to what i truly feel in this review. after the first half, i felt like the movie lost its momentum. it dragged and dragged. maybe i’m in the minority, but i feel like they could have had another ending with that idk! but yeah the part where they reached the guy candidate’s house made me feel … bored? it felt like dead air yeah. so, with that, when that ending came, where emmy breaks the fourth wall and says “putang ina.” i am so sorry but i cringed. it felt really forced to me. and, the way there were so many subplots to this story made me feel confused and nagugulo lang talaga ako HAHAHAHS. going back to esnyr and sassa, i really loved their characters but i wish they could’ve done something different with their characters i got the point of the movie though, and im very glad that someone made a movie about this. wish it had been executed better: the script and the character exploration. or, maybe it was just meant to be this simple. i dont know. but it was good enough for a movie with a big-name cast and was obviously made for the general masses. i like it! (this is the first time ive ever watched a movie that made me be stressed over a script. is this my transformation into one of those annoying film bros that act pretentious??)

“Paulit-ulit. Putangina!” It was...quite a watch, especially after voting for this 2025 elections. The movie as a whole was beautiful, though the pacing and script was a bit of a mess. Nonetheless, it shows the reality of what the Philippine elections are. I do hope that this elections (by the time I'm reviewing this), may the people with good intentions and governance win—and not the nonsense artists, dynastic families, and incompetent officials of the past.

watched for marian rivera, stayed for the yaoi subplot surface level lang yung pinaparating na motive nung movie kaya im not sure what to make out of it. pero nonetheless, kung napanood mo to at hindi ka pa rin boboto ng tama sa darating na eleksyon, EWAN K N LNG TALAGA!!!!
