Sean Wang did an awesome job directing it. Honestly, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. It’s easily one of the best films of 2024 for me. I already want to watch it again! The way it captures a simple, nostalgic day is just so relatable. 2024: Ranked (https://boxd.it/sDDDC)

Um filme real e bom de passar a tarde, ele nao se envolve em nada impactante ou nenhum plot twist, mas esse filme nao prescisa disso, ele é literalmente a realidade de um adolescente. Todos os personagens sao reais, cada um representa algo na adolescência, aquele sentimento de solidão, de nao ter amigos( nossa como eu te entendo didi), que é a pior coisa que pode acontecer com adolescentes, a gente pensa que os amigos nao sao bons ou que o didi merecia mais, mas eles sao só pessoas tambem. Eu reconheço bem esse sentimento de troca de amizades, principalmente quando vc quer parecer legal e sair com pessoas mais velhas, tudo faz parte de ser adolescente, e ter irmãos é muito bem representado, queria q eles se percebessem antes. Mas o mais real é a mae, que tambem tem sentimentos, mas nenhum adolescente percebe isso, é coisa bem global mesmo, porque envelhecendo a gente percebe que elas tiraram tudo pra cuidar, a melhor fase éperceber que vc ama a sua mae. No final nao temos um final feliz nem triste só um realista que ele ainda tem mais coisas a passar, é um filme nostálgico que faz voce querer ter só 13 anos de novo e mudar a sua data de nascimento em todo site.

Asian mid90s. Somehow this movie was so enjoyable to watch cuz it will related to you, it will give you a flashback where you're a kids or teenager, how struggle to be a teenager and dealing with some problem with family, friends, and lover. This movie hit the spots and it feels like home. I love coming-of-age movie. A 2008 internet looks too make me flashback, oh i wish i can use Myspace and early facebook again where there's a lot of games there 😭

Our moms are also just girls! For a long time, I saw my mom as someone who was supposed to have it all figured out. But the older I get, the more I realize: this is her first time living too. We get so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget our parents are also still figuring things out. My mother is still learning, still stumbling, still trying to understand life just like me. Just because they've been on earth longer, doesn't mean they've lived more lives.

Perfectly encapsulates what it was like growing up in the 2000’s. This is my new favorite coming of age film, makes me yearn for simpler times.<3

Que filme lindo, bem feito e gostoso de assistir. Eu fui assistindo e percebendo que tudo era "suave". Não precisou exagerar em nada, as coisas iam acontecendo de um jeito tão tangível e tão simples, que não parece um filme, mas sim um fragmento da vida de alguém. As vozes dos mlks quebrando foram muito engraçadas. E agora vou ter que assistir A Walk to Remember

Wang just do Fatherless child do. ada banyak hal yang bikin gw suka sama film ini, karena ya relate. apalagi temen temen yang tinggal diasia. especially in Indonesia. kenapa? ya karena Wang kurang lebih adalah cerminan Asian Teenager in Indonesia. sedikit rebel, kadang juga punya masalah gesekan dengan orang tua/saudara kandung. dan kurang lebih cara penyelesaian dari pihak orang tua pun kurleb sama gitu. main tangan haha. . The essence of the coming of age film is to love your mom. liat aja setelah klimaks filmnya, semuanya berdamai seakan akan konflik itu tidak pernah ada. ( ya, memang konflik akan selalu menjadi bumbu bumbu dasar dalam sebuah keluarga ) dan Wang yang benci ibunya dan Kakak Perempuan menjadi membaik. kurasa itu inti film dari coming of age yang sebenarnya. . ada beberapa elemen yang bikin gw cinta sama film ini. karena gw lahir ditengah boomingnya internet, This movie makes me go back to the time when I was growing up. dulu gw juga punya komputer dengan Wallpaper Ikonik dari Windows XP. persis sama kayak difilm ini dengan berlatar tahun 2008an lah kira kira. . but anyway, this is my personal favorite film in 2024. So Nostalgic. So Relate. So Asian.
