Rushmore

Maybe my second favourite WA film. Loved this. Olivia Williams looks so much better in the film than the poster, and she gives a fantastic performance. An all round good time, and I’m glad the teacher and the student stayed platonic. Oh, also WAs funniest film, the O R line had me laughing out loud.

Rushmore

One of two Wes Anderson films I haven't seen, Rushmore shows a phenomenal director testing the waters of storytelling. Rushmore doesn't seem like a "typical" Wes Anderson film. His directorial style is prevalent, but the story just seemed to be something different than his later films. Rushmore has some great performances from Schwartzman and Murray, but it's Anderson's weakest film I've seen. Now I only have to watch Bottle Rocket before I've completed his wonderful filmography.

Rushmore

Max Fischer: And 'm going to stick a knife in his heart. And 'm going to send him back to Ireland in a bodybag. Tommy: He's from Scotland. Max Fischer: Well, tell that stupid mick he just made my list of things to do today Such a fun movie. That's the best way I could describe it. It's not without it's awkward moments but for the most part - the film is docile. Some memorable dialogue and a great performance by a young Jason Schwartzman. Despite being his second film, some of Wes Anderson's stylish and distinct direction that he's become famous for is noticeable here; with it being grittier and messier. Also some great needle drops in this film! Check it out

Rushmore

❝I saved Latin. What did you ever do?❞ ❝War does funny things to men.❞ ۫ ׅ ⊹₊˚‧ ︵‿ ₊ ୨ ᰔ ୧ ₊ ‿︵ ‧˚₊⊹ ׅ ۫ ranking wes anderson's filmography ⋆.˚༄ (https://boxd.it/SoFy4) I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy Rushmore as much as I did, but oh boy do Jason Schwartzman and Wes Anderson go together like cookies and milk. It features some of the techniques and style the latter has come to be known for, combined with witty dialogue and excellent performances from the cast. Schwartzman, in particular, is undoubtedly the heart and soul of the film, and I can't think of anyone else who could've portrayed Max's mix of haughtiness and heartbreak with complete sincerity. With that being said and done, I'm kicking myself for taking so long to get around to watching this, because it's definitely up there for me in terms of Anderson's filmography.

Rushmore

It’s nice to watch one of Wes’ films and not be blinded by every color of the fucking rainbow. All jokes aside, I absolutely love every single one of his projects and this one is no different. The shots, the comedy, the dialogue…flawless as usual. My only real "complaints" were in regards to the anti-climactic ending and the character of Max Fischer; boy, what an unlikable jerky psychopath he is. But then I thought to myself...he may be a little shit, but what 15-year-old isn’t?
