Depois de ter matado um falso Michael Myers, Laurie Stroode é internada como assassina e perigosa. Ela anceia o retorno de Michael, sabendo que ele vai voltar. Existem franquias que se estendem ao ponto de se perder, mas essa aqui não só se perdeu já própria proposta como em todo o resto. Esse filme vende uma sequência e acha que pode ser tão genial do que Pânico que é uma sátira sobre filmes Slasher que brinca com os clichês e os tropos do próprio gênero, mas também se sustenta como Slasher, pelo menos até certo ponto. Mas infelizmente Halloween não é uma franquia que brinca com esses clichês, ele na verdade é um dos responsáveis pela criação de alguns deles. Esse filme vende uma proposta de jovens participando de um reality na internet onde tudo é gravado e as pessoas acham que é fake, mas aí um assassino real surge e transforma um show fake, num "massacre". Essa franquia já virou a casa da mãe Joana ao ponto de que o desenvolvimento dele é tão fake, mas tão fake... Que em momento nenhum você tem pelos protagonistas que são... Nada e a conclusão do mesmo é algo que olha... É no mínimo... Alguma coisa, não tem nem adjetivo que explique aquilo. Halloween Ressurreição é um filme bobo, simples e que joga uma pá em seus grandes eventos e personagens, uma pena.

lol bye Laurie, sheesh. I'm sure I would've hate hate hated this had I watched it at the time, but now it just comes across as quaint, with all its insufferable y2k qualities being largely innocuous. Trying to revitalize the franchise in yet another era, now in the service of always-on Internet connections and shitty reality TV. You can't vote the bogeyman off THIS island. Off-the-shelf crunchy camera quality aids this one a lot, in retrospect. Peeping Tom moment was cute, but I think it's the impromptu teenager watch party that really settles into how we were all approaching and engaging with the new media landscape.

Pretty much in this series, they are kicking a dead horse. The series really should have ended after the third film, but they kept on making film after film with the same exact plot. Upon reaching Halloween: Resurrection, these films really didn't have any modern elements, but Resurrection finally brings in the modern technology, adding some interest to the film that the franchise seemed to lose. While the film does seem very dated, it's still much more entertaining than previous installments in the series. It's a much more fun film to watch, leaving the series on a good note, ending the storyline with Laurie, as well as ending the reign of Michael Meyers. That is, until next year when we finally hopefully get a proper sequel to Halloween II, disregarding what happened during the rest of the series.

“So you wanna be on Dangertainment? Let’s see what you got.” Busta Rhymes really made this movie enjoyable in a sea of bland shit, for real.

Absolutely fucking not. The worst one in the franchise and it’s not close. Everyone* involved should feel bad, like this film’s existence should haunt them. A cinematic embarrassment that doesn’t take into consideration any of the previous films, or even know what it itself is trying to achieve. Like to just completely disregard Laurie? What about her son? Like it just feels like the studio needed an IP to bank on and dig up Michael one last time to make a buck. Like is it any wonder that the entire thing had to be rebooted in 2007? Just wow. Awful! *Not Jamie Lee. That’s mother.
