“The hard is what makes it great.” Don’t ask me why spending time with my family for Thanksgiving gave me such a 90s cinema kick, I don’t know why! But it did. A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN was a great time. Sports movies (or anime, shout out Haikyuu!!) are some of the best vehicles to portray the bonds of friendship, teamwork, intense emotional ‘environment specific’ situations, and not to mention the training montage. A League of Their Own excels at this. It’s also very funny and Hanks in particular shines as the drunk lovable asshole (hot?) spouting biting and funny commentary from the dugout. Geena Davis is…stunningly beautiful, giving a restrained performance but a still maintaining a magnetic presence throughout. Definitely can see why the film is as revered as it is. p.s. can you guys believe hollywood used to have the ability to cast different actors for different ages…and do it well?

"She always said it was the best time she ever had in her entire life" Them as old ladies had me ugly crying 😭😭😭 Such a feel good movie, so fun, had a strong emotional core and great characters Actually made baseball look exciting 😝😝😝 -1 star for how viserally disgusting Tom Hanks was in the first act (and 1/2 more for all the heterosexuality jumpscares)
