BEAUTY!... ESPOIR!... LIBERTY!... and three dicks. Hell on a budget of $9mil that's, like, $3mil per. Good bit more than most mainline productions would ever devote to pastoral scrotum. Marvelous other things also occur but where was I oh ye- TRUUUTH!!!

I want you to have your own thoughts and ideas and feelings, even when I hold you in my arms.❞ ⊱ ────── {⋆⌘⋆} ────── ⊰ A Room with a View is a beautiful adaptation of E. M. Forster's novel. Helena Bonham Carter was great as Lucy, but although Julian Sands was well cast as George, their romance came across as slightly forceful (5 stars though for Daniel Day-Lewis's pin-straight posture at all times). The filming locations were absolutely gorgeous, and I really liked the costumes and soundtrack. Overall, this film was definitely a lovely experience.

“There’s only one thing impossible. That’s to love, and to part.” God, was this perfect. A ROOM WITH A VIEW took my breath away. The aesthetics, the yearning, the young love, the passion! Ivory’s films always fill me with such an indescribable emotion…something lovely and bittersweet. I love a good slow burn and James gave it to us in spades, set in the beautiful Italian (and English) countryside. Ivory’s films have a distinct habit of making their settings feel so real and vibrant, as if you could reach out and touch them, one of Ivory’s strongest talents used to tremendous effect here. Also, we’re not going to act like Cecil wasn’t a hunty, ok? We’re not.
