so happy to finally be able to watch this movie. cillian as always delivers a phenomenal performance, but zara devlin was the one who stole the show for me. a hauntingly beautiful work of ireland's horrible past. although it felt like, objectively, the story lacked sustenance, i personally think it was executed perfectly.

This could be a christmas horror movie but they just stick with christmas history drama movie that so slow, it didn't have the wow factor for me. But because of this movie i know the so-called "church" consentration camp named Magdalane Laundry. It must be so fucked up that time.

i love how brilliant the title is, Small things like thes,; the people around him diminishing the issue as a miniscule problem, yet knows how grand the problem is; warning him and tell him to look away because it is a mere thing that always happen, small things like these. Arduous journey that eventually pays off in the end, but does it really? a systematic problem that makes a small person become less of a person. Penance, without relinquishing the guilt.

❝What if it was one of ours?❞ ────── • ୨♡୧ • ────── This was such a stirring film that was executed so well. I didn't know about the Magdalene Laundries before watching, but after some research my heart aches for all the women who suffered under a terrible system. Cillian Murphy was perfect for Bill (maybe a nomination in the future); his character was quiet but determined, and his facial expressions were excellent at showing the viewer his internal conflict. Weaved in between the main plot were flashbacks to Bill's childhood, which emphasised why Bill felt so strongly about what was going on at the convent. I really liked Small Things Like These and I highly encourage everyone to watch it at least once.
