Baby girl is definitely a film that has been released in cinemas. I feel like this could’ve been truly great, I like the cast and the premise, but it almost doesn’t go deep enough and stays relatively mild despite the heavy sex scenes. Emotionally I feel this could’ve done more. Also, the side plot of the young women lecturing Nicole Kidman on her version of feminism felt so out of place and silly, really took me out of the film and I don’t know why it was included.

O que mais me incomodou nesse evento de quase 2h onde ninguém fode ou é fodido foi o fato da Nicole, uma mulher daquele porte, cavalona, bonita pra caramba, virar capacho de um homem básico e feio. A promessa de thriller erótico é o mais frustrante, muito se dá pela necessidade de subverter algo que a gente nem vê mais em um cinema norte-americano que é tensão sexual e essa brincadeira de troca de poder ou simplesmente um tesão incontrolável. Nosso cinema faz isso há mais tempo e de forma muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuito melhor. Aqui nada me agrada, principalmente a protagonista, Nicole foi muito mais oblíqua e dissimulada em "De Olhos Bem Fechados" onde ela nem é a protagonista, mas a dúvida e o mistério a cerca de possuir ou não uma vida secreta é melhor definido e te faz fantasiar igual o Tom Cruise. Aqui ela tá vivendo num mundo onde homens ditam tudo. O comportamento dela, os desejos dela e antes isso fosse um ponto de subversão ou o foco, trazer essa questão sexual masoquista e fetichista, mas não. Ao invés disso ela tá de quatro, fazendo uma performance constrangedora e tentando vender um sentimento de "sujeira", mas o quarto de hotel "barato" é extremamente higienizado, a imagem não denota sujeira, as performances não demonstram desejo, o personagem de Harris Dickinson é um bunda. Você quer me vender que esse twink feio, de bigodinho ridículo e todo shy boy fez uma mulher como a Nicole ficar de quatro e latir?! Oh me respeita. E não bastando isso, o conflito com o marido, as relações de trabalho, a família... Literalmente nada disso importa, inclusive a filha dela que é uma adolescente parece ter mais maturidade pra essa questão de relações interpessoais. E meu Deus poderia falar um pouco sobre a questão racial que é levantada aqui, mas aí é outros quinhentos mais profundos que eu não tenho paciência e nem estudo pra isso. Mas no geral é um filme de quase 2h da Nicole Kidman reclamando que ninguém faz ela gozar e ela ao invés de resolver isso fica se humilhando pra um twink feio, sendo que o marido dela é o ANTONIO BANDERAS, se você pedir pra ele te enforcar ele vai minha filha, mas ao invés disso ela vai se humilhar bebendo um copo de leite pra um homem branco, médio, feio e que está abaixo dela. Essa indústria do "Girl Power" norte-americano já foi melhor. Que tragédia, se isso aqui foi feito pra ganhar aplauso de festival de cinema, eu espero que eles tenham gozado horrores, pelo menos mais do que a Nicole ou qualquer um que vá ver isso achando que vai ser um siriricasso. Péssimo!!!

Yes, I get it, it’s about power. Can you stop repeating it constantly? Power, power, power... We get the point without you having to spell it out or hint at it so obviously. God, it was unbearable! Is it horrible, pathetic, and superficial? I don’t even know if that’s the right word to describe it. There are countless ways to tackle this topic, and this is, without a doubt, one of the worst. I’m honestly surprised to see so many positive reviews around this film because I genuinely thought we’d all hate how shallowly it handles power, eroticism, and repression through flat characters with barely any acceptable backstory. It’s disappointing to see so many people praising this movie when there are others that explore the same themes flawlessly. Just watch The Piano Teacher and you’ll understand. Even Eyes Wide Shut, which I didn’t even like that much, does it better. Enserio, Hasta las historias de Wattpad tienen más contenido que esto.

I’m happy for those who enjoyed this, but it just didn’t work for me. It was not what I expected at all, and it felt more uncomfortable than anything during those moments. Maybe I just don’t “get it”, but this was clearly not made for me.

In theory I’m glad that there are movies being made about female sexuality, especially that of older women, but this felt so shallow. I don’t dislike this movie. I think there are a handful of great moments here and Nicole Kidman is an absolute star, I did find myself feeling disappointed by the end. This film is chock full of good, unfinished ideas. I don’t want the writers to hold my hand through this, but ultimately I feel like my understanding of Romy and her relationship with Samuel and her husband is based entirely on speculation rather than tangible evidence from the film, which I don’t enjoy. Can we talk about Kidman’s abs though?? Omfg
