Diary entries forPoint Break
Point Break
Super beef bros eloping to the upper Rad-o-sphere. (Also the sheer amount of hardassery in this movie is pretty amazing.)
Point Break
Not a cell phone in sight, just surfer dudes bein’ bros, brah. It’s so obvious that The Fast & The Furious (2001) is a “spiritual sequel” to this film. However, I still prefer F&F over this as a car enthusiast bc I watched those movies growing up, and this is my first ever watch of Point Break. Gotta love a good bromance!
Point Break
Probably my favorite Patrick Swayze movie. I love it so much
Point Break
I thought I had seen this version??? But apparently not, but it’s a fun film overall, and Reeves definitely is the standout (but Swayze is notable as well). I may revisit the remake, which I really don’t remember much of either.

Point Break
Keanu Reeves is awful and over the top (complimentary) at the same time. The ultimate 90's movie, one of a kind where Patrick Swayze throws a dog to Keanu. Ashamed they didn't kiss
Point Break
"Point Break", directed by Kathryn Bigelow is a movie I had a hell of a time with! It's incredibly shlocky and campy, but it's so damn fun! Off rip, it hits the audience with amazing one-liners and engaging action scenes. Shit, they throw a dog at one point during a chase that goes on for so long that it's comical! Swayze is giving his all here and hard carrying Keanu (who gets away with his lack of compelling acting here by being attractive). I wish there were more scenes between Swayze and Keanu and more of a soundtrack, since it can be awkwardly quiet at times, but besides that, I enjoyed this one!
Point Break
65/100 I must be one of the very few people that watched the remake first and this next. I watched the remake like 3 years ago and I absolutely loved it, loved the thrill, the cinematography, the action and just the concept. The remake is much more glamorous than this but lacks good writing and especially direction. This film is better in those aspects but the structuring is very poor, especially the 3rd act and the moral choices. It’s bound by its time and that’s clearly visible but it’s a good watch. Patrick Swayze is perfect still. Also, Keanu Reeves is simply not a good actor man.

ROCK N ROLL
Point Break
Surf's up! Keanu Reeves is Johnny Utah, a newbie FBI agent turned surfer in a case that puts him in the pursuit of a gang of bank robbing surfer dudes. "We're the ex-presidents!", one booms in a stick em up at the bank. They're each wearing an ex-president mask that fits like a glove and looks like an award winning Halloween mask. Behind the curtains though, these fellas are glued to the beach. But Johnny Utah knows that. He just can't put a face to an ex-president. Kathryn Bigelow's Point Break is a clear winner in the action territory. Shootouts, car chases, skydiving - the film is a kick and a punch of badass dude-topia. A real kicker is Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, bonded by heavy duty acting that ignores the cheese and fills it with heated adrenaline. Gary Busey (when he was sorta normal), is Johnny's whimsical partner. He passionately asks Johnny at a stake-out to grab two meatball sandwiches from the shop around the corner, racking in the slight humor a film this goofy needs. It's a crazy, fun cornball rush.
