I’m having my yearly urge to visit Disneyland, so I thought Sleeping Beautywould suffice. Alas, I am left dissatisfied, since I want to visit the castle in Disneyland now, but I’m brought back by my favorite Disney film. I’m always stunned at how crisp the visuals are on the Blu Ray release, making it even more magical every time.

Beautiful in every way, Sleeping Beauty truly captures the fairy tale aura. The vibrant colors were stunning, the animation was heavenly, everything was just amazing. Watching this after Maleficent makes me appreciate what Maleficent had done, since I have a better understanding of Maleficent's story now that I've seen both films. This is a truly iconic addition to the Disney studio.

But they say if you dream a thing more than once, it's sure to come true, and I've dreamed that dream so many times.❞ ⊱ ──── . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. ──── ⊰ It's been a long time since I last watched Sleeping Beauty, and I'd forgotten just how beautiful and lovely it is. Everything about this film is breathtaking, from the gorgeous hand-drawn backgrounds to the melodic score, and the characters are great, too; I absolutely adore the fairies, especially Fauna. I feel like Aurora and Phillip are criticised as being 'bland' compared to the other Disney Princesses and Princes, but they mesh together really well, and I love them. It's criminal that this didn't get a sequel, even a direct-to-video one, but regardless, I love Sleeping Beauty, and will continue to do so forever.

The overall film is very beautiful, with the matte paintings and colors being the best of any old-school Disney project. The animation is pretty good too, but the overall story is a bit aged and maybe too well-known at this point. Still a decent flick for the young ones.
