In Yandy Laurens we Trust Tanpa ragu, "Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film" benar-benar jadi film Indonesia terbaik tahun ini bagiku. Ceritanya kreatif banget dan disampaikan dengan kejeniusan luar biasa. Setiap karakter di film ini digambarkan dengan begitu baik. Meski narasi metanya rumit, tapi dihadirkan dengan teliti, memastikan pemahaman yang terus-menerus di antara penonton. Dinamika romantis antara Ringgo dan Nirina bener-bener menunjukkan kekokohan yang dalam, dan elemen komedinya nyatu banget, tanpa terasa dibuat-buat. Nuansa seputar sinema yang terintegrasi mulus ke dalam struktur naratif menunjukkan pendekatan yang detail. Kecerdasan film ini udah bikin senyum dan kagum berkali-kali, bener-bener bikin terkesan. Soundtrack dan skornya jadi pelengkap yang pas, dengan sempurna meningkatkan keseluruhan pengalaman sinematik. English: Definitely, “Falling in Love Like in Movies” is easily the top Indonesian film of the year for me. The storyline is super creative and executed with exceptional brilliance. Each character is portrayed flawlessly. Even though the meta-narrative might be a bit complex, they handle it with precision, ensuring that everyone stays on board. The romantic chemistry between Ringgo and Nirina really shines through, and the comedy seamlessly blends in, feeling totally organic. They really capture the essence of cinema and seamlessly weave it into the narrative. The intelligence of this film had me smiling and impressed from start to finish, leaving a real impact. And let’s not forget about the soundtrack and score—they’re the perfect complement, enhancing the entire cinematic experience.

badly written snooze fest with absolutely no development whatsoever. the story was bland and didnt really move anywhere interesting, it felt so stagnant like it was somehow just standing still instead of actually developing and moving forward. the same goes for the characters, somehow bagus still remained to be pretty awful after his supposed "redemption" but somehow this was still enough for him to get a 'good' ending, meanwhile hana wasnt allowed to live her life or given space to navigate her grief bc bagus was convinced he was entitled to her life and person, that her character was just suffocated in the story and suffered the same fate as the other characters (no development and such). the lack of genuine characterization made them feel less like humans and more like empty vessels serving as plot devices, which is a generous statement considering the plot. if your rom-com fails to establish human characters, in turn preventing any emotions and feelings to develop, which is pretty crucial for romance as a genre imo, then you have failed in making a good romance movie. the concept of this being black and white and the reasoning behind it is intriguing but unfortunately it was poorly executed. great, now its in grayscale AND boring. no interesting shots or composition or anything. the one and only time they tried to do something interesting was the split screen when bagus tried to call hana and walked down the stairs to dissappear. at first i was like "oh, thats cool!" but then the camera panned along bagus' descent, following him to the door and that just shattered the illusion and made it less interesting and honestly, in my own eyes, bad. all in all, everything just felt poorly executed, uninspired, self-serving and boooriiiing.

there's a lot things so brilliant about this movie. this one is a critic to indonesia's film industry, both to the audiences and studios. how studios these days make a lot adaptation of real life incident. how the discussion about a good movie is based on ending of the film, but not how the story being tell. surely this one is written by full attention and hope for the industry. i can feel the frustation of the filmmaker through. this movie big idea is a statement and they did it. this movie encourage us to criticize the industry, by making a filmmaker as a center of the film. cinematic experience!
