FREQUENCY, unlike most time travel stories, isn’t a film that tries to convince you that you’re selfish for wanting to change the past. On the contrary, it encourages and leans into the idea of being right to want to and somehow manages to reward the protagonist for wanting to do the impossible—without it feeling cheap. It’s also spiritually of the 80s which I adored. Has a very particular sincere feeling that wasn’t as readily available in other films of the 00s.
