Thelma

I absolutely loved watching this fierce grandma on her mission to get her money back after being scammed. The story is so simple and easy to follow, which makes the humor and heart hit just right. Each scene is packed with warmth and charm, balancing laughs with her strong, determined spirit. It’s the kind of feel-good, heartfelt adventure that leaves you smiling from beginning to end. 2024: Ranked (https://boxd.it/sDDDC)

I love you Grandma Thelma, it was so funny, warming, and sad too. Grandma Thelma is didn't deserve that, she only deserve love. And when i know Thelma is real person, is making me more crying 😭. I just don't know Thelma was strong and brave. Good for her!

Thelma

This is such an adorable little film, it reminds me of all the times I've helped my own grandmother with technology. I laughed a lot, and was tearing up at the end. I also didn't realize S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson was in this, so that was a nice surprise. R.I.P. Richard Roundtree.

Thelma

Thelma is THAT bitch I was the youngest person in the theater, which I think really helped my immersion. I didn’t love this one as much as I hoped, but it was a good time.  If nothing else, I think this movie has encouraged me to seek out more movies with elderly leads.

Thelma

❝I love you. And if you ever do die, I’m really, really, really gonna miss you. And I know you know that, but I just, uh… I wanted to say that while we’re here. While we’re here.❞ ❝Wherever I go… I’m not gonna worry about you. You’re gonna be okay, Danny.❞ 𐄁──── 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.────𐄁 One of the best experiences watching a film I've had in a while. Thelma may not be completely perfect, but it has so much charm and fun and emotion behind every small detail. The opening credits are genuinely some of the most gorgeous I've ever seen, and that same quality was maintained throughout the film. The plot was so lively and entertaining, but what I loved was that the comedic elements of the script and story were very well balanced with the more dramatic ones. I like to pay close attention to the music during films; I've said this many times before but I believe that the score/soundtrack can often make or break a film, and I was delighted to find that in the case of Thelma, it was perfect, the absolute embodiment of its titular character. June Squibb was awesome, and she worked brilliantly with all of her fellow cast members, but I adored her scenes with Richard Roundtree (RIP 🕊); they were so funny and simultaneously heart-rending. I also really liked Fred Hechinger's performance, and though I unfortunately haven't watched any of his works other than Gladiator 2, I'm definitely going to do so from now on. We really need to pay more attention to and take care of our elderly. A lot of countries across the world have an ageing population, and with the way society and technology are progressing, empathy is worryingly decreasing, and no-one, especially those in their twilight years, should be alone. ❝Look at that. Who created that? Who thought it up? A plug for a car. Electricity goes through, makes it run. But what is electricity? It boggles the mind.❞

The Old Lady-Verse: Episode 8 - THELMA I absolutely loved this, it has so many great bits and surprisingly bittersweet moments, and all of it works so well. 8.5/10

Sweet natured but fun. Nice to see Squibb finally given a real chance to shine. A lovely send off for Richard Roundtree as well. 2024 Ranked (https://boxd.it/rJ4dW)
