Classic zombies horror, the zombies are slow and the action is fast, a good mix! F*ck Harry, he’s an idiot. Barbara may as well be a statue in this film, but I do feel for her as she lost her brother so I won’t be too harsh. Overall I enjoyed this but didn’t think it was particularly great.

"Eles estão vindo te pegar, Barbra". Impressionante como novos autores que ganham créditos por "inovação" são só o rebote de conceitos que surgiram muito antes deles sequer pensar em criar algo. Antes de Robert Kirkman e seus enfadonhos roteiros pseudo nihilistas, Romero já tinha decidido a base do zumbi moderno e como ele enxergava a sociedade de sua época, mas intencionalmente, ou não, o mundo em que mortos voltam a vida, a cena mais impactante é menos o momento em que um corpo é devorado de forma animalesca e mais como no fim, quando o medo, a ignorância e a falta de respostas lógicas domina, a linha tênue entre um morto que anda e uma pessoa é zero. A forma como Romero cria todo um ambiente micro, que ressoa questões macro usando apenas uma casa, 6 indivíduos e dilemas de sobrevivência tão individualistas que se vestem com uma roupagem coletiva – o pai de família que acredita que a melhor solução é se isolar no porão – e as questões humanas que são deixadas de lado quando a lógica não é mais suficiente para "resolver" o problema. É um satélite que voltou de Vênus extremamente radioativo que ressuscitou os mortos ou algo mais sobrenatural? A resposta não importa. No fim, o país da liberdade que usou armas para destruir indígenas, perseguir pessoas de cor, supostos "comunistas" no período do Macartismo e agora quando os mortos voltam a vida, quando a linha final que separa os mortos e os vivos é inexistente, questões humanitárias são deixadas de lado. Branco, preto, mulher, homem ou criança todos morrem, todos voltam e todos devem morrer. O final tem uma provocação estética que destrói o status quo, mas a cena final é a estrutura de violência que sustenta o poder de uma nação pautada em rastros de violência. Violência tão transcendental que agora é a "solução final" contra os mortos que voltam a andar. Se não eles são indígenas, pessoas de cor e por que não pessoas Queer?!

Glad I got to finally see this classic, there’s something so comforting about older black and white films to me. The ending is devastating, Ben deserved so much better. Cooper gets the little bitch award. Fuck Cooper, all my homies hate Cooper. #JusticeForBen

Night 14 of 31 Nights of Halloween It's undeniable that this film is one of the hallmark films for the entire film industry. Night of the Living Dead is one of the most well-known films everywhere, essentially being a household name still to this day. While it may not be the scariest film out there, it still managed to create a spark in a genre that is, albeit overused, one of the most regarded sub-genres of all time. Zombies have always been around and always will be, due to Night of the Living Dead.
