Thinner? I hardly knew her! As far as King adaptations go, this is pretty good. There are some slight changes here and there, and the ending is not quite as bleak as in the novel. But it's an almost perfect adaptation. That being said, that doesn't make this a "good movie". A bit cheesy at times (poor acting will do that to you), and nothing special in regards to the setting, costumes, one-dimensional characters, etc. Good makeup and special effects though! Truth be told, no adaptation will ever properly convey King's way with words. But if you like the movie, then give the book a try too (and vise versa).
