The first Friday film I watched, and to this day, easily my fav One of the most iconic openings to a horror film in my opinion. And one of the most iconic credits songs of all time: "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)" by Alice Cooper

Jason Lives(laughs/loves) and he's back with a License To Kill, powered with 1 part 30's Universal monster and 3 parts abject lunacy, this is a really fun one in naked pursuit of the next gag and cares not who knows it.

This film is cheesy horror but fun cheesy horror. This movie rocks a paintball battle, an RV flipping, zombie Jason rising from the dead and it's scored by an Alice Cooper filled soundtrack (plus Harry Manfredini's amazing score). The opening is so fast paced and awesome. The best parts of this were easily Thom Matthews as Tommy Jarvis, Jennifer Cooke as Megan and David Kagen as Sheriff Mike. Jason Voorhees is as badass as ever too. Maybe less frightening but badass regardless I think I prefer the more horror film feel of the older films in the franchise, but this is still really fun either way! (Also, "The Man Behind The Mask" by Alice Cooper was one of my favorite childhood songs and it still slaps so god damn hard)

Eu vou manter a nota quatro, porque eu acho que ele se iguala um pouco com o quarto filme. Aqui o quesito ritmo é eliminado totalmente, ele é perfeito em ritmo e equilibradissimo. Os personagens são bem carismáticos, mas essa dupla do Tommy e da paquera dele é perfeita, são 2 personagens engraçadas, vorazes e carismáticos juntos contra o Jason que também esta mais voraz do que nunca. Uma coisa que me irritava nos outros filmes é tratar as mulheres como objetos, tem varias cenas delas nuas e fazendo sexo e em seguida morrem nuas inclusive, relevo por causa da época mas aqui temos a Megan que é uma diva corajosa, sensual, que sabe o que quer e não se deixa vencer. Eu acho ele mais divertido do que o 4, e isso me ganha, ele trabalha pouco os personagens mas de alguma forma eu me apego a eles. As crianças também são o ponto forte, e o tom humoristico certeiro do filme é o auge pra mim. Fora que todo o arco final é INCRÍVEL e empolga, e não tem tanto essa chacina exarcebada sem sentido que o quinto tem. Tommy é o maioral!! A trilha sonora icônica voltou, até as crianças tem carisma. Não dou cinco ou 4,5 porque acho demais e acho que poderia ter mais tempo de desenvolvimento, mas é um dos melhores da franquia. Mesmo igualando ele ao quarto filme, eu acho esse melhor e ta no topo pra mim. Fora que a cena que o raio trás de volta o Jason a vida é a mais icônica do cinema nos anos 80, tenho certeza

Finally a good Friday the 13th film lmao Jason's look in this is great. And the Tommy Jarvis in this is 10x better than in Part V

The kills were a bit better than part V but honestly… the story felt weaker to me. Tommy’s personality is completely different in this lol, also seems like he got contact lenses. 7/10
