The Quiet Earth
An examination of guilt and grief, The Quiet Earthadds some depth to the post-apocalyptic genre, with some decent characters and an unforgettable ending. The general aesthetic for the film looks great, with some scenes toward the end of the film looking nothing short of stunning. The short runtime does work in the film’s favor, but there are several sequences that could have been trimmed to make this a quick, efficient film. Regardless, I actually really enjoyed watching this, and am interested to see what else MUBI has to offer in their look into the apocalypse.
