Diary entries forA Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
Like many series, A Nightmare on Elm Street starts off strong, then goes down progressively with each film. With the fifth installment in the series, it's hit an all time low. It feels extremely recycled, with every death being uninteresting or seeming to have been done in a previous film. The series took such an odd turn with the introduction of a baby and the baby dreaming. The first movie is absolutely amazing, while this one is not worthwhile.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
Eu quero.

Terrible. The further I get into rewatching the series, the sadder I get. I remember these being better when I was a kid. There's a cool comic inspired bit and some great lighting but besides that, it's just awful. The Freddy makeup looks bad and the dialogue is worse than that. The story makes no fucking sense and to top it all off PEOPLE STILL QUESTION KRUEGER'S EXISTENCE. WE'RE 5 MOVIES IN. WE DON'T NEED TO TREAD THIS PLOT POINT AGAIN FOR TENSION. Then it ends with an 80's hip hop song because OF FUCKING COURSE IT DOES As much as I hated "Nightmare 4 - The Dream Master", it was at least coherent with the story it wanted to tell. This one is just a fucking mess. Skip
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
Pretty weird tbh Especially the ending
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
This was a really weird and random direction to go with this movie, especially after 3 and 4. I almost think it was trying to be a commentary on something, but I really can’t tell. Freddy was good as always but he can’t really save the story this time, although his outfits were really fun. The gore wasn’t even that good compared to 3 and 4, which was disappointing. Easily some of the worst side characters in the franchise so far, none of them were interesting at all. I really hope The Final Nightmare returns to form. 5.5/10
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
I feel like every time I watch this I both like it more, and less than the previous time I watched it. I like it’s visual style a lot, and the motorcycle death, and dinner scene death are pretty crazy. But most of the rest of the movie is not very good.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
So glad to finally see the uncut motorcycle death, fucking amazing.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
Weird creepy sequences. An Escher inspired finale. Some real dumb stuff too. Alice forever.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
as casey becker said in the opening of scream (1996): "the first movie is good, the rest sucks.”
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child
A Bay of Blood: A Ranking of Slashers (1974 - 1990) (http://boxd.it/IoH8) Freddy returns once more and this time he seems to be stepping into both his origins and the real world. The Dream Child is probably the weirdest entry in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, not to mention the weakest — never did I want to witness the birth of Freddy, nor did I enjoy seeing his little beastly body scatter away like a fucking demon. Still, I give this one props for trying to be different with its dark approach to showing the origin of the supernatural killer, no matter how dumb and depressing it can all be to watch. And then there's the kills that Freddy inflicts on his victims, which are mostly all comical but a little too much and just not that funny. Also, a lot of the dialogue in this fucking reeks. 2.1/5
