No Way Home
One of the worst-looking movies I've seen this past month, and I saw much more ugly stuff than I wanted to. The color correction is way too obtrusive, off-putting, and ever-present, it stops you from watching the movie. It is also extremely inconsistent - in some shots, the tree leaves and white T-shirt of the boy are very pinkish, in the next - yellowish. And a few seconds later, his white T-shirt becomes bluish gray. Often, the different sides of the screen are almost always decided in different hues - the left might be bluish, the right - pink, or yellow and blue, or blue, yellow, and pink (the center of screen, where the characters are for the majority of the scenes are yellow). It's very reminiscent of what the incel rightwingers call the "bisexual light" if breadtube essays. At times, it is also a lot like the digitally added green screen pink and blue colors of a Super Eyepatch Wolf video , but it doesn't work in favor for this movie. The music also completely doesn't fit the tone of the movie. It whimsical and playful, suggesting we are watching some summer adventure story, not a drama about domestic abuse, migrants, and racism. Very strange and ill-fitting.
