You ever seen a shark film that you kinda didn't like but then there's like two scenes, one of which is the ending, that are so audacious that you love so much it basically singlehandedly makes you like it out of respect. Because that's me right now Good game, Xavier Gens. It's June and he already released two things this year I like (I still think he peaked at Frontier[s] though)

This is the first time I've watched a shark movie and I'm actually supporting the shark. Come on shark, go get them and finish off those selfish people.

It's bad. When the shark eats Mika I just said "it's cinema" You can't even give a decent review of how bad it is. I only watched it because my brother wanted to watch it but since I saw that it was on Netflix and 2024 I said this will be too bad.

Jesus Christ 🥴 Under Paris was a film that I was going to discount before watching it. The general plot of the film sounded like something that Asylum would put out on the SyFy network, but oh what a surprise this film ended up being. I wouldn’t say that the film is mean-spirited, maybe nihilistic is the better term to describe it. There’s such violence and chaos to any and all characters, no boundaries are left without being crossed. It’s a genuinely frightening film, even if the plot is a bit far-fetched. You’d think that a shark film with discussions of how environmental impacts can alter sea life would be a boring film, but this was far from it. The third act of the film is worth the effort of trudging through the first act, becuase once it gets going, it becomes one hell of a ride. I genuinely had a really good time with Under Paris and really hope audiences will lean into the fantasy and go with it, since this becomes a much more fun and entertaining film if you do.
